If you think about it, if there were a way to ban specified users from reading public posts, all $USER would have to do to circumvent the ban would be to not log in before reading it.
No. That is simply the simplest way of banning someone from commenting(under that screen name.) Preventing anyone from reading is harder. You have to privacy lock your posts,go back and edit public posts individually to make them private, hassle, hassle hassle.Or you can just delete the whole smozzle. I know someone who has deleted two previous blogs and started over, just for privacy's sake.(In fact I went friends only at the same time thanks to the same waste of skin person who was hassling my friend.)I haven't friended some people who friended me,simply because I found their identities to be suspect. Some people are just plant food, and the rest of us have to deal with it.
How do you ban someone from reading, other than making a filter that excludes this person (if friended) or making all posts friends-only (if not friended)?
I've banned two people from commenting.. no, three.. in five years of journaling.
If the bannee is a friend/ex-friend, you could talk to them about it. I'm assuming that has already been tried and has failed miserably. Yeah yeah, I'm always with the 'use communications' comments. Sorry. :)
*chuckle* Thanks for the tip. But this really isn't for me (not that I didnt' want to know how to do it anyway).
In general, if I don't want something to be read by the general public then I either post it completely private (my eyes only) or I put it in a filter.
And in general, I don't post too many things that are locked to friends only. As what livejournal thinks are friends is completely different than what I think.
Besides, I have very little to hide these days. Too much effort to keep track of who you told what to. :-)
I've passed all the interesting info along though.
I may be wrong but I do believe that I might know you sir. In the past weve eaten dinner out bumblefuck/winder together. I was the inlaws husbands son. I found you through Amary/J. Dont beat her for it.
