Home Networking
Jan. 7th, 2008 10:18 amso in the process of finishing my basement, I ran CAT5E and RG-6(cable TV) networking to both bedrooms upstairs, the living room and to the downstairs bedroom. All that cable goes to the area under my stairs to a central hub. All I need to do now is to terminate the endings of those cables so and plug in a switch and I'll be good to go.
Since I wanted things to have that slick finished lick, I used the wall panels that allow you to have flushed plugs. That means that I need a punch down tool to put the ends on to the cables for the female terminators.
Anyone got a tool like that lying around? I don't plan to do this again so I don't really want to invest in one for just one job.
