My name is Heather Hutchings and I am a PhD student at Georgia Tech studying Human Computer Interaction. My advisor, Jeff Pierce, and I are researching how users may wish to employ interfaces that can span multiple computing devices. Over the next several weeks, we are conducting a study with people in the Atlanta area who travel regularly for their jobs and use mobile devices, preferably cellular phones with thumb keypads. The study involves using paper prototypes of computer interfaces to show how you would like to complete tasks with the interfaces in different situations. The tasks are fairly common things like sending email or using a calendar. The study will be conducted in the Technology Square Research Building at Georgia Tech or in your place of business if that is more convenient for you. It should take approximately one hour. There is no compensation for the study other than providing insight into the design of software tools.
If you would like to volunteer to participate please respond to this message at Heather.Hutchings@cc.gatech.edu and we will contact you to set up a time and location for the interview. You can also contact me by phone at 404-894-5619 during business hours.
