Finally back at work. Called in "blind" on Tuesday so I could spend a bit of time chatting with [livejournal.com profile] unwiredben while he was still in town. He works on Cool Stuff involving portable computing devices. He is well on his way to being the "Peter Norton" of the PDA world. Personally, I'll settle for being the W.C.Fields of the operating systems world but I don't have very grand aspirations :-)

[livejournal.com profile] zorathenne's July 4th Party was a huge success if attendance is any measure of that. Since most folks had to be at work the next day we didn't have the brunch of the Living Dead. But a few of us did manage to go visit Frys and have a geek out over the selection of nice Geek Stuff there. Surprisingly enough, the house was mostly clean. Thanks to all those folks that spent the extra time to help out with that. It made a big difference. Just need to do a butt load of dishes and vacuum the entire house and we are straight.

The roommate is going to try round two of moving on this coming saturday. Wish me luck.

All in all, life is good.

Apparently I wrote a paper on "Operational regional air quality forecast over the United States" and didn't notice. This was when I was still working on a phd and this was primarily for my phd minor in Atmospheric Modelling. The first Author, Dr. Yuhang Wang made me 4th author for my work in automating the process. You can find the stuff here . I can't find a link to the paper though.
