Twilight 2000 Reunion Trip Day 1
Nov. 19th, 2004 05:23 pmI took MARTA down to the airport. I met with Jordy Nichols and paid him for the Buddy Pass ticket that he got for me. A $58 dollar round trip ticket to D.C. ain't nothing to laugh at. Its worth noting that the check-in procedure is all electronic now if you have a credit card or debit-card to identify yourself with. Watch LCD screen to see when it cleared. Forgot to take sinus meds so 45 minutes into the flight it felt like an ice pick was shoved into my ear by way of my nose. Who says men don't understand the pain of childbirth?
While waiting for flight I had an interesting discussion with a Jordy. he is very conservative. Has no sane argument about why GLBT shoudln't have full rights. Hates abortion. Is fully against the Death Tax as well. He is well on his way to being a neo-conservative. Go him. At least he hasn't bred. Although he is full on into his hunt for a nice conservative wife that will accept his Catholic beliefs.
Arrived at Dulles. Met up with the guys. Good to see them. We had to still wait for the last member of the group, Rick (not my roommate). Airport apparently shuts down at 11pm. Got a hotdog that was possibly old enough to have been served to my grandfather. Did some people watching. It was noted that I still got more mad macking skills than the rest of them all put together. which is kinda sad since I'm quite happily monogamous and involved.
Went to Chuck's place since he was hosting. 500K house. 4 bedroom. 2 car garage. Full basement. Desk out back with room for a pool later. Sitting room off the master bedroom with its own couch, TV and fireplace. Tres nice. Obscenely decadent. Me wants one. Chuck still works for AOL (going on 12 years now). Wife is also an AOL employee and works in the legal division.
