Funny, I can tell by the price tags that you're scrimping a bit on the cheese and the bacon, but you're not on the eggs or the bread. Or, let's say I *wish* I could get really good maple-cured bacon for half price...

And, yeah, being able to get breakfast *before* shower and dressing: priceless.

How does Mickey Dee's do it? Same way Wal-Mart does. Buying by the trainload, and stomping on producers to cut prices. And then marketing the hell out of it.

(And Microsoft does likewise.)

CostCo is your friend. And occasionally they have some sales that are obscene. That is where the bacon came from. The cheese is always that cheap there. But its "american" which is that blend of cheddar and wimpy stuff so it shouldn't be expensive anyway.

aaaaaah. I'm stuck on Tillamook cheddar, which you can get at Costco on this coast, although two pounds' worth of slices is more than we'll go through before it starts turning colors...

Oooh, Costco bacon. I never thought about that. I'm a bacon nut for my daily turkey/swiss club on sourdough, but I find when I make a packet of bacon the bacon gets snacked on before I get to make sandwiches out of it. Hmm, on the third hand, perhaps Costco quantities of bacon is not a good idea. =)
