If LJ should go bye-bye
Jan. 6th, 2009 05:02 pmMy personal guess is that it won't. But if it should go away, then the die hard fans will just go find one of the LJ clones which, if they are smart, will allow you to upload your LJarchive archives directly to them. I suspect that a LOT of folks would migrate right now if that were an option.
I'm not too worried. Mainly because all the folks that need to get in touch with me via livejournal have another contact method for me be it email, cell phone, house address or Yet Another Social Network site. And my personal need to have a web log is not high enough to make me host it on my own domain.
And my Internet presence is sufficiently large that if you can't find me with a well formed query then you bloody well deserve to not find me. Seriously, there aren't that many folks named "Vernard" running around on the net with my credentials these days. Barring that, now is the time to contact me about it directly if you need to.
