So I survived the weekend. but it was hectic. Ended up staying up all night on Saturday working to get some systems back online. Essentially it was a comedy of errors cascading from some minor oversights. In the end, we recovered but its just serves to remind me that infrastructure support is the single most important thing in your Data Center. So I'm spending some time working on that right now ordering parts and such and adding in some more automated tests to keep track of things. sysadmins are by necessity lazy so we automate everything. :-)

And my cell phone is kaput. The connector on it that the charge plugs in to is broken beyond repair. If I can find an external battery charger for the phone then I'm good. But otherwise, I have to get a new phone. Currently I have the LG en-V unit. Its the only cell phone I have found that has keys with enough space between them that I can actually type easily. I gave up on blackberry's along time, And even the iPhone and the Blackberry Storm are too small. oh well. I'm currently trying to decide bewteent eh LG Voyager and the LG env-V2.

The Voyager uses the same chargers as the old en-V which is VERY nice since I don't want to have to replace my home charger and my car charger. It also has the exactly same size as the en-V. It has a much bigger internal screen as well which might even make it so that I can actually use the web browser that it has for a change (I never use the one on the en-V. Its ludicrously small). But the big draw back for me is that the entire front of it is a touch screen. That is going to lower its battery life considerably. I also believe that makes it more fragile. I'll have to do some reading up on reivews on the 'Net to see my suspicions are confirmed.

The other phone is the en-V2. Its the newer version of the en-V and is considerably smaller. They sacrificed the front screen and made the buttons much larger which I like. The front screen wasn't large enough to really do anything useful anyway. The inside is the same size screen as the en-V so nothing chages there. However, the keys are narrower due to the reduces length of the phone. However, they did preserve the space between the keys so I can still get a good type on it.

I'm currently leaning towards the voyager. I like bigger keyboards. But I am really nervous about that touchscreen.
