things that make you go "Hmmmmm"

Recently, I was forward a link to this story. The entire incident described therein left me more than a bit worried. After all, I plan to pay off a credit card debt fairly soon that is large enough that I might find myself in a similar situation. I am appalled and disgusted by these type of actions all in the name of “Security”. We already have similar things happening in the name of the “War on Drugs”. The “War on Terrorism” is no different and about as successful.

In any event, an acquaintance of mine who is Russian once comented that the Russian phrase for the KGB, when translated from Russian to English is roughly: “Department for homeland security”.

Makes you wonder what path we’re headed down...
