Friends list in LJ is not necessarily equivalent to Friends list in real life.

Friends list in LJ translates to "subscriber" list to me. Therefore if someone unsubscribes me, it means only one thing for sure: that they no longer want me to read "subscriber locked" posts in their journal.

I do not know why they did this, only that they did do this. Therefore it is not reasonable but still very likely that I will make an assumption as to why they did it. At this point, all bets are off cause I'm really just shooting in the dark while blindfolded and pointing in the wrong direction. I might still hit something but its dumb luck more than anything else.

Now, I didn't have anyone change my status on their friends list due to the recent political election so this is actually more for others that had it happen to them rather than for myself personally.

Seriously, this is LJ. If someone unfriends you and doesn't bother to tell you why in person or on the phone then you need to ask yourself was your relationship with them really as deep as you though it was? Or were you deluding yourself? Or maybe they were actually intentionally deluding you?

I have some friends that fly off the handle at the drop of a hat. They are full of sound and fury. But I know this and I accept this and I expect it. Its the price I pay for being their friend. If I wasn't willing to deal with it then I simply woudn't be their friend. I made that choice. I'm not going to give them hell about it unless that is the way I am. And that would be the price they pay for being my friend. The blade cuts both ways.

Sometimes when you are blindsided its because you were wearing blinds....
