I didn't vote for Bush. I think that his current line of presidency is going to do more harm than good for the country.

That being said, I think that the country had an opportunity to vote him out and chose not to.

This does not mean a mandate. A mandate is not decided based on 51% of the populace. A mandate is with 90% of the populace.

I still think the electoral system needs some small tweaking but not wholesale revision or throwing out.

I still think that the two party system needs to be revised to be allow for independents or possible other parties instead of treating them like ugly stepchildren.

I think that in all the hubbub that the moderates have taken the biggest hit. This past election did more to polarize the country than any other in history. Its not "us" vs. "them". What part of "UNITED" did you miss in "United States of America"?

And lastly...

This is my damn country. I'm not leaving because things don't go my way. I'm going to fight for it with every ounce of my social, economic, political and if need be physical power to ensure that moral and ethically based religious opinions do not dominate, subjugate and mitigate political decision.

Its a pipe dream but it my pipe dream.

And I'm done.
