I don't suppose you get to invoke TurboTax's "if we screw up, we pay" clause?

Nope. Because they specifically say that they are not responsible for the data that is downloaded. The error was with the company that provided the w-2 info.

They caught the error on the printed W-2s. I just didn't think to check if the electronic data was the same as the printed data. It was all my fault.

Moderately small penalties. Basically the interest on the difference since April 2005.
