The end of an era

The West Wing is gone.
I have to admit that I got onto The West Wing bandwagon late. At least 4 seasons late. But I managed to catch up by watchign reruns. Still haven’t seen them all. But got most of them. And I found that its shows like that that almost redeem much of the inane crap that is on Television.
Like many other fans, I noticed the dip in the quality of writing when Sorkin, the original creator and writers of the series’ scripts, left the show. I also noticed that it was headed back up again near the end of the series. I thought it was amusing that the British gov’t started modelling many of their actual government strategies after the ones that were presented on the show.
And I will weep for the loss of a show that made me honestly think even for a moment that politics couold be a respectable profession.
