DOOM:The Movie

I hate horror movies. Even when they are carefully disguised as an action film.

That being said, I think that the trailer for Doom: The Movie ain't half bad. If the movie just delivers what the trailer advertises then it'll be fine.

I still won't go see it though. Something about paying folks to scare me seems unreasonable.

Not surprisingly, I love horror films. I love being scared.

I hope it's better than the books. Because they were AWFUL.

Speaking of gamer movies, I was just reading about The Gamers and Gamers: Dorkness Rising. Interesting to me, because my local gaming group feels that the D&D movie would have been marginally less painful if there had been some intercutting between the players and their characters.

We can only hope that the SciFi channel won't get the rights and make a low-budget sequel called Children of Doom.

Some of the most dreaded words ever heard are:

"Sci Fi Original Movie"

*shudder*

I'll have to see if I can get a hold of The Gamers though. Sounds very amusing.

Yeah, the Gamers is a great in-joke for anyone who has done the standard college gaming scenes (like, Daven's old game, if you recall...).

http://www.the-gamers.com has an online store if you want to get the DVD's (it's too off-beat to expect it at a blockbuster or something) for "The Gamers" or "Demon Hunters: Dead Camper Lake" (another movie by the same group). Have to wait for "Gamers: Dorkness Rising" though ... not out yet.

So true...So true...Yet I keep falling for them.

OH MY GOD!!!! OH MY GOD!! (Before viewing the trailer)

(After the Trailer)
V, I have a feeling this movie will be as scary as Resident Evil.
Which wasn't really scary at all.

First off, the imps have human eyes, granted that the monsters are mutated human beings, where in the story the monsters came straight, home brewed from hell. That being said they don't look like the ones from any of the games =/, they look kinda weak.

Second, Why is this reminding me of Resident Evil, I mean granted Doom came first and is based in a more hi-tech world. It just looks like RE with new special effects.

I'm feelin funny about this movie =/.

Looks like they've dropped the whole "teleporter" and "hell" aspect of the original Doom plot, and are instead going with genetic manipulation. That works, but it leaves out all sorts of places to take the movie (and possible franchise). Still, looks like good dumb fun.
