Christmas list

Something I wanted to comment on before it slipped my mind:

on the day of my birthday, my mom called me and asked me what I wanted for my birthday. lets forget for the moment that I forgot that it was my birthday at all and focus on the gift part. It really caught me off guard. I coudlnt' think of a single thing that I wanted. Now I'm a self-proclaimed uber geek. I like gadgets and toys and pretty much anything that has electricity running through it. But I honestly could not think of anything that I truly wanted .

She asked me again at my family's Thanksgiving Day feast and I sorta threw out a PS2 on a whim. I thought my mom would have figured out that I was mostly joking but she took it seriously. I later rescinded that request much to the chagrin of my roommate who is low on funds and can't afford one at the moment.

Its kinda strage. I've been thinking about it some more and I really can't think of anything that I realy want that I would feel comfortable receiving. I'm happy for my family (even my brother Vincent). I'm happy for my friends (which includes tons of you folks on LJ too). I'm happy with my relationship with the ever-beautiful [livejournal.com profile] zorathenne. I'm happy with my job at Clayton College.

The only thing I'm not happy with is the fact that I haven't finished the verdammit PhD. But that's my fault and my problem and no one else can give me that.

All in all I'm a pretty happy guy. So I guess not being able to figure out what you want as a gift is in fact one of the best gifts of all.

but I thought you just said you wanted nipple clamps? or was that the nipple clamp delivery and application personnel?

Best Recommendation: archeotech w/ manuals. I'm personally learning slide rule, one chapter a week. Manual date: 1953

I haven't finished the verdammit PhD

If it's any inspiration, Chris and I work together and have lots of time to come up with devious pseudo-inspirational methods of motivating you to finish your thesis.. :-}

I'm glad you're happy, you're someone who deserves it. I just want to say that I'm glad I met you and have become friends with you, because you're one of the people whose presence makes my life that much better.
