Travelling
Mar. 2nd, 2010 10:29 amAn acquaintance of mine is about to travel to his home country of Haiti to help out in the recovery and rebuilding efforts. Some friends of his have purchased him an Acer Netbook running windows 7 starter and a digital camera with 4GB SD cards. He has asked me to get all his sofware installed on it and such so that he can properly maintain it while he is in Haiti. I've got Microsoft Office 2007 on there for him since that is what he was using. I also placed, Firefox, adobe reader, CCleaner, Defraggler, Speccy, and InSSIDer (an open source NetStumbler type package).
I was wondering what other useful software should he have? I only recently returned to the world of windows with my own ultra-light notebook and the only things that I can recommend is Linux which isn't an option for him (seriously, don't want to go down that path right now).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
