Rules in this game of tag are simple...once you've been tagged you must write a blog with ten weird, random things, little known facts or habits about yourself. At the end choose at least 10 people to be tagged, list their names and why you chose them. Don't forget to leave each one a comment stating " You've Been Tagged" and tell them to read your latest blog!

1. My favorite type of music at the moment is Country. Darius Rucker rules!

2. My idea of the perfect girl is basically myself in female form. If you meet her, let me know as I pay a finders fee :-)

3. I am the least interesting member of my family. That should frighten you much more than it does.

4. My second choice of majors/colleges was Journalism at the University (sic) of Georgia.

5. I was a child minister and toured southern Georgia in the summer from ages 7 to 10. I didn't take it very seriously then but it was a great way to spend the summers with my grandmother.

6. I cannot whistle. Not even a little bit.

7. My uncle is Garfield Heard. I've watched him play at the Omni in Atlanta a few times during my childhood.

8. I normally don't drink milk.

9. I have taught at 4 universities in the Atlanta Area: Georgia Tech, Spelman, Clayston State, and American Intercontinental.

10. Despite being ordained, I am primarily agnostic and find religion unsatisfying.

Despite what the meme requests, I am NOT tagging anybody. I did this because I thought it was amusing. It actually was difficult to come up with things that I thought were random and that folks didn't know about me. I'm a fairly open person and while interesting to some, I find myself extremely boring and couldn't think of anything that was noteworthy.

So this past weekend I went to see Edwin McCain at Eddie's Attic. It was a Sunday night showing so basically it was a bit thin. Nothing as packed as it is on a Friday or Saturday show.

I was at the 2nd show which is adults only. The language can get a bit bawdier but Edwin is a straight up kinda guy so I didn't expect it to be really any different. The first show usuallygets more of the pop charts stuff. I like the 2nd shows because the artists always do things a bit diffreent. Edwin brought a guitarist and a sax player and that was it. Very good show. And the stores that surrounded the songs are one of the best reasons to go see a show at Eddie's Attic. That and the fact taht you can practically reach out and touch the artist they are so close.

The song list was:

Sign on the Door
Dragons
Darwin's Children
See off this Mountain
Could Not Ask For More
I'll Be
One things Left to Do
White Crosses
Mele Kalikimaka - The Hawaiian Christmas Song
I've Seen a Love
Shooting Stars
Gramercy Park Hotel
Radio Star

its kinda funny. He was playing a lot of songs that aren't quite happy. And then after "See off this mountain". This guy stands up from a bar stool and starts whooping and hollering and saying "You friggin rock! Yeah!" and such. Turns out that he proposed to his girlfriend while she was there and she said yes. Apparently Edwin was her favorite musician and bringing her to the concert was just such a showing of love and affection that when he popped the question, she said yes. So Edwin decideds to play the closest thing he has to a love song. And then he plays his big hit "I'll be". And then he goes back to playing stuff that rips your heart out like "White Crosses". :-)

Great concert. If you are in Atlanta and you haven't gone to see a show at Eddie's Attic, you are truly missing something. Great music. Great acts and a truly great venue.
