Making lemonade

So despite the fact that I'm less than happy about the current environment at work, I've decided to take a more positive spin on things. I'm going to actively complain less. Make note of the things that don't work/are not working and try to either correct them or work around them. I might complain at home or in private but not at work. No one likes a complainer after all.

The house is mostly clean after the gathering I hosted on Saturday and a few points were driven home:

I really do need to get my HVAC zoned. Having one unit for upstairs and downstairs just means that we freeze out the downstairs folks and the upstairs folks burn up. So that'll be $20K investment when the time comes.

I need to get the stereo system downstairs hooked up as well. While conversations are fantastic, its nice to be able to have some background music too.

I need to replace the current China Cabinet with actual shelves for the bar. I need the extra space for certain and it'll make it easier to locate things when I'm trying to make a drink. Also, I just like the idea of mirrored shelving to make the Bar of Doom that much spiffier :-)

I REALLY need to finish installing the accessories and such for the downstairs bathroom. Having a roll of toliet paper just sitting on the back of the commode is just ghetto.

I REALLY need to get my downstairs door replaced. I already bought it, but I need to paint it and install it. Its just not safe to have a door with a broken window pane on your back entryway. Its just begging for crime.
