Many folks know of The Serenity Prayer which is used by Alcoholics Anonymous as a mantra of sorts to help them overcome their addiction. It goes something like this:

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

What many people do not know is the rest of the prayer, and yes, its is an actual prayer.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

The author is Reinhold Niebuhr

Also, the original version is a bit different and goes something like this:
God, give us grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed,
courage to change the things that should be changed,
and the wisdom to distinguish the one from the other.
