Christopher Columbus....
May. 10th, 2006 11:53 amwas just a white guy that got lost.
But seriously. It always amazes me when they find evidence that contradicts commonly accepted historical beliefs that instead of doing due diligence and trying to see if its actually true, even the most learned men will scoff and simply declare it preposterous. Whatever happened to using the scientific method? Are we that afraid of change that we would overlook a truth in exchange for the comfort of what we know?
Note: the link is very very broken at the moment and i can’t find the original URL now. It concerned the fact that new evidence has surfaced that Chinense explorer Zhang He probably discovered “America” much earlier than christopher columbus. The evidence is a 100 year old map that claims to be a duplicaiton of an even older map made by Zhang He and showing the “integrated” world. The chinese on the map clearly describes the occupants of “America”, “Austraila” and others. However, it also is inconsistent in that it shows things like California as an Island and completely omits the British Iles.
