Heading out
Jan. 5th, 2005 09:03 amLeaving in a few hours to go to the College Teaching & Learning Conference in Walt Disney World, Florida which is sponsored by the http://www.ciberinstitute.org/. Its a fairly cheesy conference from the hardcore research point of view. The main reason I'm going is that my interim department chair thought it would be good tenure package fodder and a good excuse to go to Disney. Unfortunately the other 2 facutly members that were going to go with us had to bail so the Disney part of it is most likely a bust. But it shoudl still be amusing.
Unfortunately I have yet to finish my presentation that I have to give on Thursday. Luckily its a 20 minute presentation so I can probably whip it up in about an hour. I'll probably do it tonight when we arrive at the hotel. If Jon and I don't spend all our time playing LAN games and such. I picked up a copy of Neverwinter Nights just for the occasion :-)
I also paid my college tuition today. OUCH! . If that ain't a reason to graduate I don't know what is. I could have bought a porsche with the money I've been sinking into GA Tech.
Anyway, need to clear out he email as students are asking for overloads for classes and such. School for Tech and Clayton start next week and I need to make sure no one is waiting for me to get themselves registered. Fees are due at the end of this week and there is a stiff penalty if you do it late ($75 at Tech, $50 at Clayton).
Take care folks. I'll probably have more opportunity to catch up on LJ during the next few days than I have had over the holidays. And I'll probably be on IM as well if you need to get in touch with me. And of course, my cell phone will be attached to me at all times.

zorathenne while I'm gone. She's had a helluva day yesterday and could probably use the extra set of eyes to help with her mother. I left my cat Lieutenant with her but I suspect that might not be enough.
p.s. The icon of the duck is for the INCITE virtual laboratory of which I am a member. I use it for research/teaching oriented posts.
