One last "kungaloosh" for the road.

Disney closes Pleasure Island

While I wasn't too impressed with the dance clubs since that isn't my scene, I did somehow like the idea of it. Just wasn't going to work. Kevin Yee (who runs the Miceage website) does a good writeup. But he didn't appreciate the Adventurer's Club. Which I personally found extremely entertaining. Where else can acquiring a "nom de guerre" like "hanky head" be entertaining rather than humiliating? :-)

Kungaloosh indeed!

We brought in the Millennium there...I'll miss it for that reason alone.

We will be in the World for the day it closes and the week before. I think we will brave it with the kiddos and go see the Adventurer's Club one last time.

That's really sad. I liked the Adventurer's Club a lot.

That's sad. I only went once, after Magicon in 1992 - I think that may have been pre-"kungaloosh", or at least I don't remember that, but the adventurers club was very cool anyway. We sat around drinking gin and tonics and picking out other con goers from the crowd.

We really liked that they'd disnified the whole bar/club experience. I remember there was an entrance to somewhere that was temporarily closed for some reason, and they had a guy in a tux there whose whole job that night was to direct folks over to an entrance that worked. For some reason that impressed me a lot at the time - in the real world someone would have just stuck up a sign.

That is too bad; we went to the Adventurer's Club three times during our honeymoon.

I hope the petition has some effect; [livejournal.com profile] st_emma pointed out that the Adventurer's Club might fit in Epcot or the Animal Kingdom.
