I find this to be one of the more clever optical illusions, as it exploits the actual physiological mechanism of vision rather than our visual perception algorithms. (This also makes it one of the relatively few that work on me; on most of the visual-perception illusions, my brain pops up and says, "Nice try, but you're not slipping that one past me.")
