1. california sidecars:
   I like motorcyles. A LOT . But I don't like the fact that motorcyles are inherently unstable (its the two wheel thing) and that in some cities, the drivers completely ignore the existence of motorcycles until after they have caused someone driving one to lay it down. The solution? a big enough motorcycle and adding a third wheel. California sidecars are a modification that you add to a cycle to make it a tricycle or trike for short. Very nice. 2. cowboy bebop:
   I'm a sucker for anime. Hell, I remember when it just unfortunately called "japanimation". But the key to any thing like this is the story. A good story will overcome just about anything else including bad acting and a low budget. Cowboy Bebop is good. Very good. And the way they use music in this particular series is phenomenal. I'm particular fond of the opening and closeing songs, Tank and Real Folk Blues. Tres Cool.
3. earthdawn:
   I've been doing Roleplaying GAmes for a long time. I remember the first Dunegons and Dragons boxed set that came after Chainmail! I remember when Elf, Halfling and Dwarf were a class as opposed to a race. So I've been doing variations of D20 for most of my life. Earthdawn was the first non-D20 fantasy system that I really liked. Its hard to explain but someone when the characters KNOW what levels are and that EVERYBODY uses magic (not just "magic-users") it felt like there was less pretending in places that didn't matter and more pretendingin the place that did matter. Anyway, I really like the system and I play it when I get the chance.
4. gestalt views:
   "Gestalt effects in psychology of cognition refer to the form-forming capability of our senses." A gestalt view is one in which you see the overall picture rather than the individual components that make up the picture. Its similar to impressionism in that regard. I am interested in them as a means of understanding why people do what they do. I think one of the keys to understanding yourself and others is to be able to see the gestalt view as easily as the non-gestalt view. And being able to switch back and forth quickly.
5. linguistics:
   Language is about communication and I think one of the biggest problems the human race has as a whole is that we don't communicate very well at all. Despite my love for lanuage and linguistics, I have a hard time learning new languages unless I am place in an environment where I used them often. Although apparently I speak pretty good French in my sleep. Go figure.
6. parliament funkadelic:
   The original Funk-meisters. Make my funk the P-funk. I want to get funked up. 'Nuff said.
7. pvr:
   Personal Video Recorders or Digital Video Recorders. I think these devices are the re-invention of TV as we know it. Being able to watch what we want when we want as opposed to when they want us to watch it is another step in taking control of your life.
8. smallville:
   I'm a sucker for Superman. The Big Boyscout himself. Yeah, I'm a fan. I think that examining the parts of a story taht are left untold is interesting. And figuring out how Clark becomes Superman is very interesting to me.
9. techwood:
   I lived in Techwood for one year. And it changed my life more than I could imagine. Techwood was the Real Life version of Animal House but without the fraternity symbols. I'm glad I left but at the same time I'm glad I was there. Techwood Lives On through the people that lived there.
10. women:
    Lt. Col. Slade from "Scent of a Women" said it best: Ooh but I still smell her. Women. What could you say? Who made 'em? God must've been a fucking genius. Hair. They that hair's everything you know. Have you ever buried your nose in a mountain of curls and just wanted to go to sleep forever? Or lips. And when they touched yours were like that first swallow of wine after you just crossed the desert. Tits. Hoo-hah! Big ones, little ones. Nipples staring right out at ya, like secret searchlights. Mmm Legs. I don't care if they're Greek columns, or second-hand Steinways, but what's between them... passport to heaven. I need a drink. Yes, Mr Sims, there's only two syllables in this whole wide world worth hearing. Pussy. Hah! Are you listenin' to me son? I'm givin' ya pearls here.
