My rational mind says of course they are equal. But when I think of it in terms of Mr. Marley then its not so clear cut.
Yes, in that Mr. Marley saw that both loves can be as powerful and strong. No, in the sense that when a woman gives her heart to a man its seen as somehow a bigger decision than when a man gives his heart to a woman. Its kind of a weird chauvanistic and chivalrous mentality.
A woman's choice of who to love is somehow more significant than a mans. Probably something to do with it being primarily a male dominated world and all that rubbish.
