house update: the little things
Apr. 26th, 2007 11:27 amMet my father at the house this morning at 8:30am. Ugh. would have been ok if I had gone to sleep before 1:30am :-(
We went over the list of issues with the house that the Amerispec house inspection agency gave me.
Turns out all the missing doors were downstairs in the basement. Apparently they had removed them at some point. From the paint that is on them, it wasn’t before they did painting either. I can clean that paint off but odds are I’ll replace them later.
The leaky kitchen faucet is due to the hand jet that is old and worn out. As long as I don’t use that its fine. A replacement kit is $25 and trivial to install.
The vent hood over the stove has a burned out switch for the fan. when the power to the fan is turn on, the fan runs full tilt all the time. So they had apparently unplugged it. We’ll repair the switch or just replace the entire hood. Fairly straight forward and relatively cheap.
Need to replace a few a few central heating/air vents as they were removed during painting. Cheap.
Need to reverse the polarity in the wiring on 3 15amp outlets. Trivial.
so its pretty much ready to go!
